Adam Lambert Unworthy Of Gay Rights Award, Florida Publisher Norm Kent Claims
GLAAD's decision to honor singer Adam Lambert for his gay rights advocacy is being criticized by Norm Kent, the publisher of gay weekly South Florida Gay News.
Lambert is set to receive the group's Davidson/Valentini Award at the 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards set to take place Saturday, May 11 at the Hilton San Francisco – Union Square.
The award, which is named after Craig Davidson, GLAAD's first executive director, and his partner Michael Valentini, is presented to an openly LGBT media professional who has made a significant difference in promoting gay rights.
In an op-ed posted Wednesday, Kent said he was furious at a decision to feature Lambert on his paper's cover during his absence.
“[S]eeing him on the cover of our newspaper a few weeks ago made my partner and me puke,” Kent wrote. “Other than feature new makeup every day, what has this kid done to warrant a cover story?”
“Adam Lambert may be a Grammy nominee, a Billboard 200 artist, and he may sleep with other men, but he has not made a career promoting gay rights. He has made a career promoting himself, his music, and his albums.”
“GLAAD is sucking off that publicity and fame to line their own pockets, instead of choosing someone worthy of that award. GLAAD needs to get its priorities straight. Stop awarding celebrities and acknowledge the unheralded champions of justice that fight the good fight for LGBT justice everyday. There are many out there.”

This just seems like such a odd thing to say, considering Lambert just perform a few concerts in Russia despite
Anti-homosexual laws, his work with the Trevor Project, and performing at a same-sex marriage benefit, etc...

Adam Lambert has arrived in Seoul, Korea and is ready to kick off a brief international tour through Asia and parts of Europe starting tomorrow. The tour was originally dubbed "The 2013 Overseas Non-Tour Tour" by fans as dates slowly popped up despite Adam stating that he would not be doing a full tour for his Trespassing album.

However, Adam has now given the tour his own title, which he shared via social media tonight (February 15). He announced the name for the mini tour via Twitter, saying, "I just decided that this brief tour is to be called the 'WE ARE GLAMILY TOUR'" and further called it"Just a fabulous and funky family affair." It seems that Adam's Glamily is as excited as he is to be back on the road, as seen by several tweets from his band members, dancers, and backup singers.

Likewise, fans around the world are ready to see more shows, even if many will only see the performances on YouTube. It is expected that he will have some new surprises, as one of the backup vocalists tweeted about learning new songs. Adam also indicated that the snippet he recently tweeted covering Rihanna's Stay was a preview and there is "more to come."

Adam will perform 17 concerts on the mini tour, starting tomorrow in Seoul and ending on March 22 in Finland.

Adam Lambert scores love ndash; The GLAAD Media Awards are always a little confusing, mostly because they have so many different people to honor that they have three separate awards shows (March 16 in New York, April 20 in Los Angeles, and May 11 in San Francisco). Regardless, we’re pleased to report that Adam Lambert has been nominated for Outstanding Music Artist.

Adam Lambert and 19 Recordings have parted ways, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Although the "American Idol" season eight runner-up had split with 19 Management in August 2011, he remained signed to the recording arm of 19 Entertainment (now owned by CORE Media Group) for another 18 months.

According to sources, January marked the expiration for that contract, although he is still on the roster at RCA Records. "It's good for both sides," says an insider. "Adam can move forward with his plans and 19 isn't stuck in the middle."

A rep for Lambert says the two parties leave "amicably and with the utmost respect for each other," adding that the decision is but one part of the singer's "evolution," which began when he joined Direct Management Group, home to Katy Perry among other clients.

Since first signing to 19 in 2009, when he advanced to the finals on Idol, the company has seen profits from Lambert's six RCA Records releases, which include two studio albums as well as collections of live recordings and remixes, along with merchandising revenue and other ancillary products.

Although Lambert saw little radio play in the U.S. for his latest offering, Trespassing (which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart), his success overseas has cemented his status as an international artist. Aside from appearances at massive events like the MNet Asian Music Awards and The Voice China, the latter of which was watched by some 500 million people, he played with Queen, hosted December's VH1 Divas 2012 special and there are plans for Lambert to tour Japan, Southeast Asia and Europe in 2013.

As for his third album, conversations with the label about direction have already begun.

19 Entertainment still represents a slew of Idol alums, including season 10's James Durbin, Casey Abrams and Haley Reinhart and season 11's Colton Dixon, Jessica Sanchez and winner Phillip Phillips, among others
